Stress Management Tool Box North East
Stress Management Tool Box – are you thinking what has a tool box got to do with Stress Management?
Does it conjure up the idea of some DIY:
- Measuring and cutting
- Gluing things
- Or filling with Polyfilla
Well in a way your stress management toolbox is the DIY of self-care. There has been a lot of talk about self-care especially in this last year. Furthermore it has also been lourded as a ritual and requirement that you add it into your daily life.
I have always believed looking after yourself should be easy. In addition, if your life is already busy, over scheduled, and quite probably in need of some streamlining, rather than thinking about what else you need to do, look at what you already do.
Stress Management Tool Box – Self-care
Does it fit the cap of self-care? … Focusing on YOU and doing the things that usually make you feel good.
Maybe self-care for you is quite literally that toolbox for doing a load of DIY and fixing things? However, that wasn’t quite what I meant. It was meant in a more lateral way… Whatever is in your toolbox that makes you feel good, then that is your self-care.
There are of course all sorts of routines you could do, but if the idea of adding some
- Reading 10 pages of a book
- listening to audio for 15 mins
- drinking a celery juice
all before your day starts, is your idea of hell, then it is most certainly not a self-care approach.
Where to start
If, however, you are looking for a place to start some tool kit building and Stress Management in the North East or indeed some Stress Management Nationally or even Stress Management Globally, all it requires is for you to take a look into your toolbox. See what it is you enjoy doing already but. It is after all a universal language.
If time is so precious and you couldn’t add anything else into your day, never mind a ritual. Well some of the simplest things you can do are free.
- Drink more water
- Take deeper breathes
They can all be done easily and qualify as your tool box kit if you are not really doing enough of them.
To be fair they are the 2 things that will keep you alive and as already mentioned free!
Give yourself a pat on the back
If you already do self-care, then give yourself one almighty well done pat on the back, I do most of the aforementioned on a daily or weekly basis but thats been a work in progress for about 10 or more years and I have learned to fit it around me rather than me around it.
If, however, you are looking to add to the toolbox there are lots of things you can do, such as.
- Decluttering a room bit by bit
- Start a budget or at least a note of all your income and expenditure!
- Set up a peace of mind account and pay money into it each month.
- Set yourself a plan to crochet and knit!
